| They didn't have the parfait containers so we couldn't get any. Came back home and went with Ryan to get a sub at Subway which is actually part of TCBY. Prob go back later with Willie for the parfait.
Tues 11 Jan: Worked a lunch shift and then went over to KJ's place later that day.
I hate this. This is when I start to get confused cos now I struggle to remember when I did things. I should prob write it down and piece it all together. Actually, that's not a bad idea. Will write again. | | |
| Okay, getting back soon so here goes the short and sweet update.
Fri 7 Jan: Bought batteries at Walgreens for my cam - turns out they were the wrong ones. Packed for Tampa and had KJ take me to the airport. He was hungry so we left early so we could swing past somewhere but special kid took a wrong turn so I just went to the airport early. Good thing though since I got picked out for a special security check. Got picked up at Tampa airport by Ant and Dave, Ant's son. We went home, picked up Jan and Amanda (mother and daughter) and went to Kyobe Japanese Steakhouse. Nice place, they make your food in front of you. Ate too much. Went home and watched 'Bruce Almighty' and 'Garden State' and then went to sleep.
Sat 8 Jan: Called Adz for her b-day. Chilled with Ant in the morning drinking tea on their patio, which also happens to be on a lake. Not too shabby. Went to Tampa beach for lunch at Frenchies, which is a restaurant on the beach. Had Grouper. Walked on the beach. Checked out mall. Went to Target where Ant bought me a 12-pack of duracell batteries for my camera - the right ones this time. Went out to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner. Ate too much. The theme for the weekend. That and getting spoilt. Dropped a hello on blog from Dave's room (see 8 Jan). Crashed early cos we were planning on starting the day super early.
Sun 9 Jan: Ooh big day. Firstly, everyone woke up late, ie at 7 or 7:30. Got in car and set out for Disney World with a superb breakfast from Dunken Donuts along for the ride. Oh, and the family gave me an mp3 player cos they just had one spare lying around. To get a one-day Park-Hopper card, I had to pretend to be Jessica Sebba. It's a Florida resident thing, I don't know but it worked. Started at Magic Kingdom - Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Carousel of Progress, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain Rail Road. Went to Epcot and had lunch in Mexico. Missioned to MGM - Rock 'n Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror. I was so freaked out for that because it always mind fucks you, but I managed to have a teeny bit of fun so I bought myself a shirt. Went back to Epcot - Mission: Space (awesome simulated launch), Test Track and dinner in Norway. And while running to catch Test Track I fell. Not bad but it'll leave a mark. Ant bought me some candy (getting spoilt and fat) and dropped me off at Travelodge where I stayed the night and the Sebbas went home.
Mon 10 Jan: Got up and caught a shuttle from the hotel to Universal Studios to meet up with the other Southies coming in on the bus. Went around the park with Gavin, Tamryn, Terushka, Wesley and Jason. Let's see, I went on The Hulk, Spiderman, Dudley-Do-Right, River Adventure, Dudley-Do-Right again (this time I'm soaked through everywhere...everywhere), Duelling Dragons Fire and Ice (2 diff rollercoasters, went on both) and then went to go eat pizza for lunch. It was around 3pm when we decided to upgrade our tickets. See, first we were in Islands of Adventure and now we upgraded or tickets to get into Universal Studios too, ie enter 2 parks. In Universal Studios we did Shrek 4-D, Twister, The Mummy (the most awesome rollercoaster I have ever been on, so big, so fast, so dark, and so unexpected incl going backwards and mind fucking you with all those scarabs) and then we did Back To The Future. That was the ride I really wanted to do to be happy. For an old ride I was so impressed. It was kinda rough and really good. Had dropped off my bag in a locker so picked it up and went to the bus which left at 6pm and we all missioned back home on like a 3hr trip. But now I had my mp3 player with music already downloaded compliments of Dave so it was a pretty quick trip. Stopped off to chow Burger King along the way and slept when I got home. I really did eat a lot.
Just talking about how much I eat and now I'm going to go have ice-cream with Willie. I really want to try a parfait though. Think Shrek, parfaits have layers, everyone likes parfaits. | | |
| Hi, know it's been a while. Just to say, in New Jersey now. Whoa, just flew in from Boston and on to New Orleans for Mardi Gras this weekend! So checking out New York - the Big Apple - tomorrow and I'm sure it'll be lank fun. The family I'm with, Lisette, Mike and Jay are so fab. Will def make an update, even if it's as brief as brief can get, on what I've been up to since I left for Tampa. It' cold outside by the way. Somewhere around, oh I don't know, below freezing at night. Bought a nice down jacket though - and 2 scarfs, one red, one orange for when I'm feeling bolder. | | |
| Struggling to remember exactly what I did on Tues 4th Jan. Know I worked cocktail lounge that night and it was the Orange Bowl so I went to KJ's to watch the last half. But Oklahoma was getting their ass kicked so bad by USC so we put in a movie instead. Watched 'Good Fellas' which was a fucking long movie but I made it through somehow. Crashed after that obviously.
Wed, 5 Jan: Worked lunch. Kinda hung around at KJ's. Kept moving between his place and mine trying to make a plan to do something. Was hoping to get hold of Wouter and swing by his place but that didn't happen. Ended up going to Quiznos and Muvico (the cinema) with Ken, an american working in golf at Boca West. Grr, argh, turned out Wouter and his bro and all of them were at Chilis. Had a Turkey Ranch & Swiss at Quiznos and we watched 'Meet the Fockers'. It's alright, not as amazing as some people made it out to be. Got home around 10:30-11. Went over to KJ's and arbed there. Arbed with Danny and AJ, KJ got back later. Oh, and Onyx is actually only 2 months. Wild as hell when she has the energy, but possesses all the puppy adorableness that goes with that age. Don't know how it followed on but we went upstairs to Andrew's place and he had mates down from NY so we were all drinkink up there. Had a few vodka and oj's. The 726 guys left at some point and I just stuck around chilling, finishing off my drink. Met some cool people. Mike was really nice, hot too, far too gone though - pity. Got his number, will give him a call when I'm in Boston. I'm not exactly sure how the geography works, but I think that was the idea. Went back downstairs later in a very happy mood. Crashed late, becoming an as per usual thing.
Thurs, 6 Jan: Woke up at a decent time actually. Was going to go for a bike ride to Ross but didn't actually know where I was going so ended up going down Powerline until I hit Deerfield. That's kinda far, especially when you don't think you're going all that way to start out. Checked out a shopping plaza effort place there. Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Sports Authority, etc etc. Bought some pretzels to chow. Cycled back, arbed across the hall with AJ till I had to go to work. Went to work. Worked hostess by myself. A first, there's usually Carrie or Bianca. I survived just fine. Got back home and then the fun began. Went over to KJ's. Surprised? Anyway, KJ and Danny brought their snakes over to our apt so we were taking pics and wearing them and it was all round just cool.
Okay, now I'm suffering from mucho confusion. I think I spend too much time over there, getting days and stuff mixed up horribly. Will have to give it comet thought and try sort it out in my head. But right now, have to go across the hall and see if we're going to the Everglades. Can't help it. They're cool company and we can actually do stuff. | | |
